The DIY bases, which come in a variety of forms and sizes and can be used for a variety of projects, are one of the main product categories at Hobby India. Hobby India offers a broad range of solutions for DIY enthusiasts, including circular acrylic mirror circles, pre-marked MDF bases for painting, and dreamcatchers with personalised names.

A variety of additional goods are also available from Hobby India, including pooja thalis, jewellery bases, clock bases, tissue boxes and holders, pen stands, tea coasters, designer plates, and keychains. They have more than 5000 products listed on their website with over 15000 plus variants.

About the company:

Hobby India was started in March 2021. It is a tailored online community for fans of art and craft. It provides a selection of DIY products, such as MDF, Pinewood, and acrylic items, Kids DIY Kits, Home Decor items, Event Props, and more. The custom-made products of Hobby India are created by an all-female workforce and meet a variety of demands.

Their vision is to become India’s number one art & crafts supplier & to reach every artist out there. They want to provide clients everything they require so they may unleash their creativity and produce really original works of art.

In last 18 months, they have delivered more than 22,000 orders to more than 12,000 customers. They have 28 employees and all of them are female. Their processing capacity is 80 orders per day.

Revenue: 

Their 15% of the sales are from ready-made home décor products. And rest 85% is from DIY products. Their repeat sale is more than 50% every month. 90% of the customers are women.

In first year of starting i.e., FY 21-22, they generated sales of Rs. 1.5 crores.

Their average order value is₹1280, out of which product cost is ₹410, shipping cost is ₹160, processing cost is ₹170, website and payment gateway are ₹30, CAC is ₹90 and remaining margin is ₹420.

Last month sales were Rs. 21.5 lakhs with the net profit of Rs. 6.5 lakhs. FY 22-23 year to date sales are Rs. 1.17 crores & they are projecting sales as Rs. 2.75 crores with EBITDA 30%.

  • Vineeta offered Rs. 50 lakhs for 20% equity at valuation of Rs. 2.5 crores.
  • Amit & Vineeta’s combined offer was Rs. 50 lakhs for 20% equity (10% each) at valuation of Rs. 2.5 crores.
  • Post founder’s counter offer, Amit & Vineeta revised their offer to Rs. 50 lakhs for 15% equity at valuation of Rs. 3.33 crores.

Founder’s Counter Offer:

Rs. 50 lakhs for 4% equity at valuation of Rs. 12.5 crores.

Final Deal
