Founders & their story

Durlabh Kumar Rawat

He was born and brought up in family from a farming background. His upbringing in rural India and 12 years of corporate life in Delhi have allowed him to observe “two sides of India.”

Then he recognized that it is crucial to develop a business that serves to both, well-off citizens looking for high-quality food and to farmers seeking extra economic prospects. So, with the aim of supplying fresh & unaltered farm fresh food to the people, he set up a farm, bought 50 cattle, and started producing milk.

He named his company, Barosi, which is a tiny hole excavated into the ground and lined with wood and cow dung cakes for heating clay pots over a very low flame. After a few hours under the boiling heat of Barosi, the milk acquires a very earthy scent.

About the company:

Barosi was started in 2016 with the aim to collaborate with local, dependable, and sustainable farmers and transport their food from the farm to the customer’s doorstep in the most environmentally responsible manner possible.

Promoting a transparent food system by interacting with customers via online and new business channels, Barosi intends to assist local farmers in expanding and reinvesting in rural areas through customer support.

The firm intends to portray its products as an authentic direct-to-consumer (D2C) food brand that connects “Bharat to India.”
